Communications Officer
CLEAR Initiative, an initiative by the Norwegian Refugee Council
CLEAR is hiring a Communications Officer to lead its external communications. The role explains, in plain language, how CLEAR helps field teams act on scattered information before a crisis peaks. The audiences are donors, humanitarian leaders, and partner organizations.
You will
- Write and edit public content for the website, the newsletter, and partner updates, and keep those channels on one message.
- Turn technical work on data, the platform, and pilots into language a non-technical reader can use.
- Support visibility with the Norwegian Refugee Council and consortium partners, including briefs, announcements, and event materials.
- Keep a simple content calendar and publish on the agreed channels.
- Check public claims with the team before they go out, so numbers, product status, and field examples stay accurate.
- Apply do-no-harm to anything public: no content that exposes people, locations, or operations that should stay private.
You bring
- Experience as a communications officer, or in an equivalent role, in a humanitarian organization or a related public-interest team.
- Clear writing in English for external audiences, and comfort learning a technical product.
- The ability to work with programme and technical colleagues without a large communications department behind you.
